2. Color choices are for the BACKGROUND of the sign. We do NOT offer color choices for the text. Colors will be done as shown in our color chart (base color, natural/darkened text). The color chart is pictured in each listing. Our base color is the color that is painted underneath the top coat (the color you choose at checkout), so when the sign is sanded, the base color pops through a little bit. If you would like a base color other than is what is shown in our color chart pic, (or if you would like no base color at all) please request so in the "note to seller" box when checking out.

This is a beautiful sign! I wanted the writing changed to say friends instead of family and the seller was super easy to work with. It is a truly gorgeous sign! I was taken aback by the odor. This sign wreaked when I received it. We aired it out for days and it still stunk. We washed it with some organic fragrance free wood cleaner and polish that we use on our furniture. Now the odor is completely gone. The odor was not a varnish type smell, I don't know why it had to stink quite that bad, but it was a terrible smell! The little rings that hold the date discs took some getting used to in order to attach them correctly. I highly recommend buying some needle nosed pliers to make the disc rings easier to work with. All in all, I'm delighted with this sign and I know I will use it for years to come!
